The Aim for the Diversity Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Doctorate Symposium is to inform diverse Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, and Certified Nurse Midwives on how to pursue the appropriate doctoral degree for their career trajectory. Discussions and/ or presentations will be offered on doctorate educational pathways, differentiation of research and clinical doctorates, rigors of the program and career trajectory. This symposium is in response and in alignment with the 2010 IOM Report, “The Future of Nursing: Leading Change Advancing Health” by increasing diversity of nurses into doctoral programs, increasing cultural competence and decreasing health disparities. Diverse APRN Participants: The selected speakers of the Diversity Advanced Practice Symposium will be diverse doctoral prepared nurses (PhD, EdD, DNP and DNAP).
